Dutch Student Investment Fund (DSIF) is a venture capital fund managed by students from the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences. It was established in 2016 as the first student-run European venture capital fund. DSIF invests up to €10.000 into innovative start-ups created by bachelor and master students, PhDs and recent graduates. The fund aims to help young student entrepreneurs to turn their great ideas into real start-ups.
While DSIF is structured as a venture capital fund, its primary goal is not to make the biggest return on investment but rather to support student entrepreneurs as much as possible. DSIF believes that young entrepreneurs should have access to all the means necessary to turn their great ideas into real start-ups that could potentially benefit society.
We are on the mission to contribute to the growth and success of student entrepreneurs through active collaboration, access to an extensive network, and monetary support, while building a mutual learning relationship.
Our vision is to become the first contact for student entrepreneurs and a vital part of promoting student-led startups in the Twente region.
Next to financing, we offer young entrepreneurs guidance & appropriate feedback which can help to move start-up ideas to the next level. Professional advice helps any young entrepreneur to make a sensible decision about reaching their business goal. We want to share our knowledge and experience to help students avoid unnecessary mistakes on their journey to a successful startup.
We support our portfolio start-ups in every step on their way to success by sharing our knowledge, experience, and advice from top-notch professionals from our network. We want to help the start-ups as much as possible and support them after the investment is done, too. We stay actively involved with the start-ups to monitor progress and offer support with the legal side of the business.
The DSIF members participate in all kinds of networking events where we get access to a large professional network. Currently, the network of our partners consists of numerous companies and organizations (Novel-T, Hive01, Saxion Centre for Entrepreneurship, UT Challenge, Golden Egg Check, Incubase) that can help student entrepreneurs. We are in an ideal position to connect student entrepreneurs to companies and organizations.
DSIF invests in startups created by bachelor, master, PhD students or recent graduates from the University of Twente or Saxion University of Applied Sciences. We invest from €5.000 to €10.000 in startups from various fields that could benefit society.
